Dental Implants|All-on-FourImplants have become the standard of care for replacing lost teeth. We have been able to do amazing restorations ranging from a single tooth to an entire mouth full of teeth.Implants are freeing patients from continual periodontal issues, restoring complete biting force and function, and are superior restorative possibilities over root canal therapy and conventional bridge work. The All-on-4 procedure is one where all of the teeth are removed in either the upper or lower jaw, or both, and implants are immediately placed along with your new teeth all in the same visit. This is where the terms "Teeth in a Day, or Teeth in an Hour" comes from. These teeth are PERMANENT, providing you with a lifetime of beautiful smiling and amazing function!
Bone GraftingSometimes due to Sometimes due to trauma, age, periodontal disease, long ago or difficult extractions, there many not be enough bone in which to place implants. That is when we bone graft, or add bone, to the desired area. We utilize state-of-the-art technology to achieve new bone growth or regeneration using a variety of new bone products, bone morphogenic protein, platelet rich plasma, and various membranes to help protect and aid in the healing process. We can graft for a single tooth, multiple teeth, the sinus to aid in placement of upper jaw posterior implants, or an entire arch if needed.

Wisdom Teeth|ExtractionsWhy do we take out wisdom teeth? The primary reason is inadequate space for the wisdom tooth to erupt and become a functional tooth that is easy to keep clean. Other reasons include: pain, existing infection, bone loss, decay, presence of pathology or a cyst, and damage to adjacent teeth. Do all wisdom teeth need to come out? Most do, but not all. The easiest way to determine this is with an exam and x-ray. Whatever the reason to extract any teeth, it can be done with IV sedation if you choose or local anesthesia if that is more to your liking.
PathologyPathology can exist in many forms, from a very small, non-conspicuous bump or spot, to a large, expansive tumor in the jaw bone. All of these need to be evaluated and treated, or followed. We can do that. From a simple removing of a lesion on your oral tissue, to a resection of a bone tumor. We also have the capability to reconstruct the bony defect, place implants, and restore you to function. If you have concerns about any changes in your oral tissue such as texture, color, enlargement, or bleeding, please call our office at 505.554.2575 to schedule a consult.

IV SedationIV sedation is a type of anesthesia we use to help you sleep, relax, and not remember the procedure. As an oral maxillofacial surgeon, we have extensive training in general anesthesia, deep conscious sedation,(IV sedation), and advanced cardiac life support. We do a detailed health history and consider your medications to ensure that the sedation is safe and there are no drug interactions. You as a patient, are monitored with blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation, EKG, and carbon dioxide monitoring equipment throughout your surgery. The surgical assistants are all certified by a national dental anesthesia assistant program and have training in basic life support. I am a Fellow of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiology as well as certified by the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology. All of this ensures that you have a very safe and comfortable sedation experience.
